Advertising disclosure

USVISA.com is free because immigration attorneys pay to advertise here. Paid placements are labeled ADVERTISING. When you use our lawyer form, we pass your message only to the participating attorneys you choose. We do not evaluate your case, recommend or endorse attorneys, or take any share of legal fees.

How USVISA.com is funded

USVISA.com is free to use. We earn revenue from licensed immigration attorneys and law firms ("participating attorneys") who pay to advertise on the site. We are an advertising platform. We are not a law firm and not a lawyer referral service, and we do not recommend any attorney.

What participating attorneys pay for

Participating attorneys pay us for advertising, such as listings, display placements and the delivery of inquiries from visitors who choose to contact them. Their payments are for advertising only. Payments do not depend on whether you hire the attorney or on the outcome of your matter, and USVISA.com does not receive any portion of the fees you pay an attorney.

What the "ADVERTISING" label means

Content marked ADVERTISING (or "Anuncio" / "Publicidad" on Spanish pages) is paid for by the attorney or law firm shown. It means:

  • The attorney paid to appear there.
  • The attorney, not USVISA.com, provided the descriptions, credentials, languages, practice areas and locations shown, and is responsible for their accuracy and for compliance with the attorney advertising rules that apply to them.
  • The placement is not editorial content and is not a recommendation by USVISA.com.

Some states require attorney advertisements to carry specific labels, such as "Attorney Advertising," or to name a responsible attorney or office location. Participating attorneys are responsible for including any statements their state requires.

How the "Need a lawyer? Email us" form works

  1. You describe your situation. You write a short, general description, the U.S. state relevant to your matter and your preferred language.
  2. You choose. You select the participating attorney or attorneys you want to receive your message and consent to us sending it.
  3. We pass it on. We deliver your message only to the attorneys you selected. We do not analyze your legal problem, judge its merits or decide which attorney is right for you.
  4. Attorneys may contact you. An attorney may reply to you directly. Attorneys decide for themselves whether they can help, and some may not respond.
  5. You decide. You are free to hire one, more than one or none of them, or to look elsewhere. Any agreement and fee arrangement is solely between you and the attorney.

When we show which participating attorneys are available, we use neutral, factual filters, such as the state where an attorney is licensed or practices, the languages the attorney says they speak, and the practice areas the attorney chooses. The order in which attorneys appear may depend on factors such as location, availability, advertising package or rotation. Order is not a ranking of quality.

No endorsement, recommendation or rating

  • We do not endorse, recommend, rate or vouch for any attorney's skill, experience, character or results.
  • Appearing on USVISA.com does not mean an attorney is better qualified than an attorney who does not appear here.
  • We require participating attorneys to tell us they are licensed and in good standing, but we do not evaluate their quality. You should check any attorney's license with the state bar or licensing authority where they are admitted before hiring them.
  • Attorney reviewers named on our guides review content for accuracy. A reviewer's name on a guide is not a recommendation of that attorney.

No attorney-client relationship

Submitting an inquiry does not create an attorney-client relationship with USVISA.com or with any attorney. A relationship begins only if you and an attorney both agree to it, typically in writing. Until then, keep your message general and do not send identity numbers, documents or details you would not want shared. See our privacy policy.

Attorney fees

Attorneys set their own fees, which may be flat, hourly or otherwise. Ask any attorney for a written fee agreement before you pay. USVISA.com does not set, collect or share in attorney fees. Government filing fees are separate and are paid to the government, not to us. If cost is a concern, see free and low-cost legal help.

Editorial independence

Advertising does not influence our guides. Advertisers do not review, approve or edit editorial content and cannot pay for coverage or favorable mentions. Our guides also describe free options, such as nonprofit legal services and DOJ-accredited representatives. See our editorial standards.

Advertising in emails

Our newsletter may include attorney advertisements. They carry the same ADVERTISING label and follow the same rules. We do not give our subscriber list to attorneys.

Testimonials and reviews

We do not publish paid reviews or testimonials of attorneys. If an attorney's advertisement includes client statements or past results, those come from the attorney, and past results do not guarantee or predict a similar outcome in your matter.

Questions and complaints

If you believe an advertisement is misleading, or you have a concern about how an inquiry was handled, email info@usvisa.com with the subject "Advertising." Concerns about an attorney's professional conduct may also be directed to the attorney discipline authority of the state where the attorney is licensed.
