Fees

Immigration fee calculator

This immigration fee calculator adds up the official government filing fees for the forms you select, including USCIS, immigration court and State Department fees, online versus paper prices and add-ons such as premium processing. Fees change often, so confirm the total on the official fee schedule before you pay.

How this tool works

Check each form you plan to file and choose the filing option, such as online or paper, or the applicant's age group. The calculator adds the published government fees and shows a breakdown. It does not include attorney fees, translations, medical exams, photos, travel or courier costs.

Pay only through official channels. USCIS fees are paid when you file, online through a USCIS account or with the paper form. Never pay government fees to a website or person who claims to be "official" but isn't a .gov site.

Read our USCIS fees guide for fee waivers, reduced fees and recent changes. Employers can estimate the full cost of a work visa with the sponsorship cost calculator.

Frequently asked questions

Are online USCIS fees cheaper than paper?

For many forms, yes. Since the April 2024 fee rule, USCIS charges $50 less for several forms filed online, such as Form I-130 and Form N-400. Not every form can be filed online, so the calculator shows both prices only where they differ. Online filing also lets you track the case and receive notices in your USCIS account.

Do I pay the biometrics fee separately?

For most forms, no. The biometric services cost has been included in the filing fee since April 1, 2024. A few applications, such as some filed with the immigration court, still have a separate biometrics fee. The calculator adds a separate biometrics fee only where one still applies, so your total is not double counted.

Can I get a fee waiver?

Some forms allow a fee waiver or reduced fee based on income or hardship, such as Form N-400 and certain humanitarian applications, requested on Form I-912. Many employment and investment forms do not allow waivers. Check the form instructions before filing, and read our USCIS fees guide for who may qualify and what evidence to include.

How much does premium processing cost?

Premium processing is an optional extra fee, paid with Form I-907, that makes USCIS act on certain petitions within a set number of business days. As of October 2026, it is $2,965 for H-1B and L-1 petitions on Form I-129, a rate in effect since March 1, 2026, and $1,780 for H-2B petitions. It speeds up the decision, not the outcome.
