The rules for using USVISA.com's free guides, tools and attorney inquiry form, and the limits of general information.
Recurso educativo de operación privada. No está afiliado al gobierno de EE. UU.
This policy explains what personal information USVISA.com collects, why, who we share it with and the choices you have. In short: we collect only what we need, we share your inquiry only with attorneys you choose, we do not sell your information for money, and we never ask for passport, A-number, Social Security or bank details.
Effective date: October 28, 2026

USVISA.com is a privately operated educational website about U.S. immigration. In this policy, "USVISA.com," "we," "us" and "our" mean the operator of the website. This policy applies to personal information we collect through usvisa.com, our English and Spanish pages, our tools, our forms and our emails. It does not cover the websites or practices of government agencies, attorneys or other third parties we link to or connect you with.
We never ask for and do not want passport numbers, A-numbers, USCIS receipt or account numbers, Social Security numbers, bank or card details, government account passwords, or copies of identity or immigration documents. We also ask you not to send detailed health information or criminal history. If you send this kind of information anyway, we will try to delete it and will not use it except as needed to pass your inquiry to the attorneys you chose.
Because our site is about immigration, a message you send us may reveal your citizenship or immigration status, national origin or similar details. Some state privacy laws treat this as sensitive personal information. We use sensitive information only to do what you asked, such as delivering your inquiry to the attorneys you selected or answering your question, and for security and legal compliance. We do not use it to infer characteristics about you or for advertising. Where the law requires your consent to process this information, we ask for it on the form before you submit.
We do not use your information to make decisions about you that produce legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not decide anyone's immigration eligibility.
When you submit the attorney form and select one or more participating attorneys, we send your inquiry to those attorneys only. They receive it so they can contact you about your matter. Once an attorney receives your inquiry, the attorney's own privacy practices and professional duties apply to how they handle it. We do not send your inquiry to any attorney you did not select, and we do not give attorneys our newsletter list.
We use service providers that process information on our behalf under contracts that limit how they may use it. These include:
We may disclose information if we believe in good faith it is required by law, subpoena or court order, or necessary to protect the safety, rights or property of any person or of USVISA.com. Where the law allows, we will try to notify you before disclosing your information in response to a legal demand, and we will push back on requests we believe are overbroad.
If USVISA.com is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy's protections.
We do not sell personal information for money. Delivering your inquiry to attorneys you chose is a disclosure you direct; it is not a sale. Some analytics or advertising technologies, if used on our site, may be considered "selling" or "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under certain state laws. You can opt out as described below. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
We use:
Where required, we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies, and you can change your choices at any time using the cookie or privacy settings link in the site footer. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work.
We treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for that browser, and where possible we show you that your opt-out was honored. You do not need an account to use GPC.
There is no common standard for responding to browser "Do Not Track" signals, so we do not respond to them separately. We do honor GPC, as described above.
We send newsletters and alerts only to people who sign up. Every marketing email identifies USVISA.com as the sender, includes a working unsubscribe link and our postal address, and uses accurate subject lines. We process unsubscribe requests promptly and within the time required by law. Even after you unsubscribe, we may send you a direct reply to a message you sent us.
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy:
We may keep information longer when the law requires it or to resolve a legal claim.
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and reputable service providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, which is one reason we ask you not to send identity numbers or documents. If a security incident affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.
Depending on where you live, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon and other states with consumer privacy laws, you may have the right to:
Some of these rights apply only if a state's law applies to us, and each has exceptions.
Email info@usvisa.com with the subject "Privacy request," say which right you are exercising and which state you live in, and give the email address you used with us. We will verify your request by confirming you control that email address, and we may ask for a bit more information if needed. We will not ask for government identity numbers. You may use an authorized agent; we may ask the agent for proof of your permission and ask you to confirm your identity directly. We respond within the time the law requires, generally 45 days, which may be extended where the law allows.
If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision with the subject "Privacy appeal." We will respond in writing within the time required by your state's law. If you are not satisfied, you may contact your state attorney general.
In the last 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information described in the California Consumer Privacy Act: identifiers (such as email address and IP address); internet or other electronic network activity (such as pages viewed); approximate geolocation; inferences we draw from topic choices; and, when you choose to include them in a message, characteristics such as citizenship or immigration status and national origin, which California treats as sensitive personal information. We collect these from you, your device and our service providers, for the purposes listed in How we use information, and we disclose them to the recipients listed in How we share information. We use sensitive personal information only for the purposes permitted by California regulations, so we do not offer a separate right to limit. Retention periods are described in How long we keep information.
We do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes as defined by California Civil Code section 1798.83.
Our site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it. Teenagers should ask a parent or guardian before using our forms.
Many of our readers live outside the United States. We operate from the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Data protection laws there may differ from those where you live. By using the site, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States.
We link to government agencies, attorneys and other websites. Their privacy practices are their own. Read their policies before sharing information with them.
We may update this policy. We will change the effective date above, and if we make material changes we will give notice on the site or by email before the changes apply to information we already hold.
